Making a Difference: United Way

First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard have always taken a leadership role when it comes to participating in the United Way. So when the Sioux Empire United Way set their 2015 Campaign Goal at just over $10 million dollars, PREMIER once again rose to the challenge.

As of December 2014, PREMIER corporate and employee pledges are over $1 million towards the overall United Way goal. “We are excited that through the generosity of our staff we are 10% of the United Way giving in the Sioux Empire area,” said Miles Beacom, President and CEO of PREMIER Bankcard. The PREMIER goal was originally $700,000. However, Denny Sanford, owner of First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard provided a challenge to the staff that if they met the goal, he would pledge an additional $300,000 to the $1 million pledge.

In 2014 PREMIER received the Sioux Empire United Way Business of the Year for companies with 500+ employees. In addition, PREMIER was ranked as the company with the most Heart Club members (a ranking they expect to keep in 2015). The Heart Club consists of individuals who give at a level of $500 or more annually. It also includes Rising Heart givers who pledge a minimum of $5/week with a plan to increase by $1/week for five years.

Beacom added, “The United Way is one of the most efficient and effective investments we can make in our communities. More than 90 cents of every dollar goes directly toward programs and services that benefit individuals in 33 communities in our region.” Making a difference, inside and out of the company, is part of The PREMIER Way that PREMIER associates embody. The United Way is just one of the many ways that PREMIER contributes their time, efforts, and money.
